Marinus de Kleuver

Marinus de Kleuver, M.D., PhD

Marinus de Kleuver was trained in the Netherlands and Buffalo, United States. From 1998 he pursued a clinical career in spinal surgery in the Sint Maartenskliniek, where he was director of the orthopedic center from 2007-2012. In 2016 he was appointed as full professor at Radboud university medical center, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. There he was chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery from 2016-2023, and since 2023 he is professor and medical director of the center for trauma and reconstructive surgery. He has completed an international executive program (IEP) at INSEAD business school in France and is the current president of the Scoliosis Research Society. He is the past chair of the  AOSpine Knowledge forum for spinal deformity and past chairman of AOSpine Europe.

Dominique Rothenfluh

Dominique Rothenfluh, MD, PhD

Dominique A Rothenfluh is the director at the University Hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland, one of the highest-ranked hospitals in the world. Previously, he was a consultant spine surgeon for 10 years at Oxford University Hospitals in the UK. He has a PhD in Biotechnology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne. He specialised in spine surgery in Zurich, Switzerland, and Nottingham, UK. His main clinical interest lies in complex adult spinal surgery which includes adult deformity and reconstructive surgery of the spine and surgery for primary tumors. He was the Chair of the Education and Fellowship council from 2019-2022 of Eurospine and now serves as Vice-President in the presidential line. He is on the editorial board of Brain & Spine, the official journal of EANS and Eurospine.

David Marks

Mr Marks qualified from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London in 1985.  Following general surgical training in London and Warwick, he commenced Orthopaedic residency in 1991.  He was Senior Registrar to the spinal deformity service in Birmingham from 1993, and was awarded a British Orthopaedic Society Wishbone travelling scholarship in 1995.

Mr Marks has been an active member of the British Scoliosis Society, The South African Spine Society and the Scoliosis Research Society. In 2022, he was awarded the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Blue Heart Clinician of the Year Award. Mr Marks practise is now mainly in the area of spinal deformity, with the focus being on paediatric and Early Onset Scoliosis in particular.
